Birthday of the Divine Mother
The Mother was born Mirra Alfassa on February 21, 1878. We carry in this section a photo-darshan of the Mother, a description of a devotee's first encounter with the Mother and some quotes from Sri Aurobindo and Herself pertaining to Her birth and Her mission.
 
 Birthday of Auroville
On 28th February, 1968, was laid the foundation of Auroville, a planetary city situated in Tamil Nadu, South India and proximal to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Auroville, founded by the Mother as the City of Dawn/City of Sri Aurobindo is an experiment in future community, where individuals from all over the world living together with the willingness to participate in a new manifestation based on the Divine, may find the conditions and the active consciousness for its personal and collective realization. The Sri Aurobindo Center of L.A. was designated by Mother as an "Auroville Center". In this section, we carry Mother's Dream, which is the basis of Auroville and reproduce a letter by Anie Nunnally, one of the early residents of Auroville, presently associated with the Center at L.A.
 
 Work
Work done in the right consciousness is the key to the realization of the divine manifestation on earth. While working in and for the Mother can be made an individual practice at all times and places, an opportunity for collective work intentionally established in the Mother's name, can be a rare gift, where one may open progressively to the experience of a gnostic consciousness, the consciousness of the Mother unveiled and simultaneously at work in all beings. At the Sri Aurobindo Center of Los Angeles, apart from ongoing projects, collective work sessions are carried out on the third Sunday of every month. This section carries quotations and reflections founded on these sessions.
 
 Health
The physical being is the adhar of the Integral Yoga and the awakening of its consciousness is an important part of this yoga. At the L.A. Center, we heard a video talk by Shri M.P. Pandit pertaining to the issue of diseases, ageing and the physical consciousness. This section carries pertinent quotes from the Mother on this subject.
 
 Beauty
The passing of Jayantilal Parikh, artist and director of the Sri Aurobindo Archives, brings us into contemplation of the spirit of Beauty and its place in the divine life. Jayantilal's life was an exemplification of the unostentatious manifestation of this spirit of Beauty in everyday life. Here, we carry quotes from the Mother on the subject that were read out during our Center's meeting to commemorate the passing of Jayantilal.
