CREATIVE EXPRESSION

The Stupid Servant
This is the third of the adaptations from the Panchatantra by Shri Manoj Das, being carried serially in Jyoti. This story explores the simian-human encounter and the unhappy fate of one who gets caught in-between. For Aurobindonians there may be food for thought here relating to the transition from man to superman.

Four Paintings
Lucette Bourdin is an artist and long-standing friend of the Center who draws spiritual inspiration from Sri Aurobino and the Mother. Here we carry four of her mystical mindscapes covering a variety of terrain. Lucette paints mostly using opaque watercolors (gouache) on paper and achieves from it a rare combination of the subtle nuanced color-shifts of watercolors with the textured effects of oil-paints.

Excursions with Swami Ananta
Michael Miovic's account of his recent inner and outer travels through Greece, the western abode of the Overmental Gods, invokes the presence of the legendary Swami Ananta Chaitanya, denizen of a little-known island near Pondicherry given to him by the Mother, as the field for the collaborative manifestation of the Greek Gods.

Some Recipes from a First Saturday Potluck
Here we take on an unconventional aspect of creativity - Cooking. As "all life is yoga", some members of the Center have turned their consciousness in the direction of food. The collective progress in this area received "the seal and sanction of the Divine" recently through the publication of a review of a First Saturday potluck at the Center in the Los Angeles Times. Here, we carry recipes for a few of the dishes presented at that potluck, created by Anie Nunnally, Amrita Banerji, Dorian Schneidman and Diana Arias.
