Shri Manoj Das
A one-time trustee of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram at Pondicherry, Manoj-da, as he is fondly called by his many friends and admirers is among the most eminent men of letters at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram today. An awardee of India's most prestigious national prize for literature, the Sahitya Academy Award, he is among the most unassuming of the Mother's children, though at the same time, among the most dynamic.
 
Lucette Bourdin
Lucette Bourdin is an artist from the L.A. region who draws spiritual inspiration from Sri Aurobindo and the Mother and is a long-standing friend of the Center. She works mostly in opaque watercolors (gouache) on paper, painting mystical landscapes that record her subjective experiences in the presence of nature. We are featuring four paintings by Lucette in this issue.
 
Shri Sandip Tagore
Shri Sandip Tagore is a resident of Osaka, Japan, where he used to run a Sri Aurobindo Center. A professor of Multicultural Studies at the Osaka University, he is presently on a one-year sabbatical, and visited the Sri Aurobindo Center of L.A. on Sri Aurobindo's Birthday.
 
Smt. Ashoka Dhar
Smt. Ashoka Dhar is one of the foremost living exponents of the rare spiritual form of Indian Classical singing known as Dhrupad. She visited and performed at the Center, along with her son, Risabh, who plays the pakhawaj.
